FAQ

Does this kit meet ABAA T0002?

Yes. ABAA T0002 calls for a digital force gauge accurate to 0.5% of full scale, calibrated within the last 12 months, pulling a 2-1/4 in (60 mm) disc. This kit ships with a 0.5% digital gauge, a fresh dated calibration certificate and 4 sq in discs of that size.

How do I convert the reading to psi?

Divide the peak reading in pounds-force by 4, the disc area in square inches. A 64 lbf reading is 16 psi; 100 lbf is 25 psi.

Can I use it for ASTM D4541 tests too?

Yes. The same tester and discs are used for ASTM D4541 pull-off tests on air barrier membranes and coatings. Follow the method and disc size your project specification names.

What else do I need on site?

A two-part epoxy or hot glue to bond the discs, high-tack tape to hold them while the adhesive cures, and a utility knife or the FCC-2.25 core cutter to cut the membrane around each disc.

Are the discs reusable?

Yes. The ADH-4 discs are aluminum and reusable: clean off the old adhesive and membrane, then bond them again. Extra 10-packs are $75.

How often does it need calibration?

Every 12 months to stay within ABAA T0002. We recalibrate Force-Test pull testers for $150, NIST traceable, with a new certificate.
